Preparation for FESTIWALLA 2020
An artistic-political camp about the shift to the right, international resistance and what we can do for our future.
The upcoming Right-wing is not only a problem in Germany – but everywhere. Therefor we are organising an international camp with young people who want the same as you: to get loud, take the future into their own hands and change things - across national borders.
International groups from Palestine, Turkey, Romania, Italy and Belgium will be coming to Berlin in order to get organised as a community. Over 5 days we will be connecting our perspectives and working together in form of art and action against the political right.
We are looking for you! Sign up and join in!
You just have to feel like doing it. It doesn’t matter how much you know about or how experienced you are in art, organising or politics. Not only young people are invited, but all those who want to be part of FESTIWALLA.

FESTIWALLA CAMP International „Anders Europäisch?!“ 09-13 October 2019
Over five days, Theater X will be hosting young groups from Palestine, Turkey, Romania, Italy and Belgium, and – of course – everybody who wants to be part of it. There will be a mixture of artistic and political exchange against the Right, with theatre, workshops, dance, discussions, music and party. We don’t just want to talk – we want to do actions together!
And the best of all: FESTIWALLA Camp 2019 is only the beginning! The 150 participants of the Camp 2019 will be part of the process to organise and prepare FESTIWALLA 2020. Only half a year later we’ll be seeing each other back in Berlin again – and by then we will be even more people!
You don’t know FESTIWALLA?!
FESTIWALLA is a Festival created by young people with 4000 People attending as audience and participants. And it is all self-organised by us, Theater X and friends: program, set decoration, lighting, logistic, organisation, press and marketing, workshops and discussions…

„Anders Europäisch?!“ What is it about?
We are witnessing a rise and establishment of an encreasing number of racist and fasccist parties as well as organizations. From the burning of witches and crusades, colonialism, two world wars to the Holocaust – Europe has always been bringing horror and suffering to the world and its people. Europe is responsible for the massive numbers of people dying in the Mediterranean day after day, as well as exploitation of humans and nature worldwide.
But there is also another story of Europe – the story of revolutions from below; the history of workers, minorities and their resistance against exploitation, exclusion and oppression.
These and other stories, as well as present struggles are the perspectives we want to make visible and heard, in order to learn from it for our present and future.
Our inspiration was Fatima El Tayeb´s perspective and book "European Others: Queering Ethnicity in Postnational Europe".
In this time of an international shift to the right, it is necessary to connect and join our struggles. Let’s organise worldwide! Against a Europe of the right and for a solidary, climate-just society!
